The Dead Monkey is one of Nick’s most popular plays and has been staged many times all around the world. The action takes place in a shack on a beach, and explores the story of a couple who have seriously lost the way in their marriage.
The brief for the project included concept development, design and photography to illustrate this new production. The design was inspired by some of the play’s central themes – marital breakdown, confrontation, surreal comedy – as well as the sun-drenched Californian setting.
The play subsequently toured across the southwest region, and the image was used to support a widespread publicity campaign.
